I'm finally getting pretty good at it and it really helps with visualizing the space.
The electrician will be on the roof Thursday. We put him off so we can meet with a lighting designer up at the house for an hour or so to help decide on the lights that hang from the ceiling plus all the others. I feel like I know nothing about lighting!
Here is a SketchUp version of the living room looking toward the back and the arched window.
It's been really hot the last few days, but cooling is expected soon.
I can hear the waves crashing out the apartment window. Ahhhh, sounds wonderful.
PS — this is the wall where the sliding door to the deck was! I like it better this way.

Just wanted to correct a typo <:-)
Lighting scares the daylights out of me (ha ha!) I hope you have someone helping you who knows a lot about it. It's just not something most of us give that much thought to very often. When it's good, it's wonderful.
Boy! I agree about the window and fireplace wall being better than the sliding door. It makes the space more enclosed, and cozy - much better feng shui to direct the traffic and qi across the end of the room than right through it.
Looking good!
I'm gonna hafta try that SketchUp program.
that looks so great! is that a wood stove on the left as well (against the wall)?
That's Jody's flat screen TV dream.
Hi!
Amazing what you can do with a computer!
Thanks so much for your recent comment on my blog!
