I'm in the upstairs bathroom and Jody is taking the picture from our bedroom:
Looking in from the back deck. They cleaned the floor! and got most of the nails out of the studs. The hardwood floor is being protected by heavy plastic. Hopefully it will survive the thrashing. That cabinet in the middle is coming out too:
Soon the outer walls will be stripped of the cedar shingles.
Items being salvaged (but not for us):
Here is a rendering of the street side of the house. This will become the new main entrance. The gray areas are corrugated metal and the colored parts are stucco — as Jody calls it, "Mission-Warehouse". The roof will also be corrugated metal. (Nice and fireproof)

Wow, looks like it's really coming along! Thanks for adding the rendering.
This is great! It feels like we're right there along with you (of course, with none of the stress;-) It is coming right along - how exciting. Will you be changing the stairway at all? I'm trying to visualize how the new "main" entrance ties in to the main living areas of the house....
The stairways is non-conforming (narrow). We can't change it legally, but had intended to change the direction.
We will, however, be opening up the wall downstairs along the stairwell wall, so you can look all the way up to the upstairs.
crazy!!!!!!!
