One stormy evening in 2009, we were driving home up the coast. As we came to an area where there are often small rocks that tumble down near the road, there was a car that had stopped with lights flashing and we saw that a huge boulder had fallen into the right lane. Jody jumped out to help two guys who were struggling to move the rock off of the road. They finally managed and we went on our way.
Well, Jody got very attached to that rock, and after road crews moved it down the road into a parking area, we always looked for the rock to make sure it was still there, scheming to somehow rent a truck and haul it to our house.
The next Christmas, Atea and Donald gave Jody a coupon good for the delivery of that special rock, and this week we were finally ready to receive it! Here we are moving it into place. It was a group effort.
Jody reminded us that it is a Japanese tradition to give a rock as a housewarming present, so our rock came home at just the perfect moment.

What a great story! May your rock bring you luck.
This is the absolute BEST! There is nothing like a rock. Doesn't it make you feel just so grounded when you see it? I can't wait for the chance to be there and hug your rock. Love it.
I expect that rock left it's home on the hill just for you!
how sweet!!
