Lots of Changes - December Begins

Here are a bunch of photos we took yesterday (December 1)...

The deck will be Huge! A great place to hang out and enjoy the view (or set up a few tents on):

By the time we left, the metal was all up on this part of the roof:

An Amanita mushroom actually grew in the garden this year! It got broken before I could take a good picture of it, tho:

Moving inside you can begin to see the planes of the walls better. The sheetrock is gray, a special kind that takes the Venetian plaster well. All walls will be done in 2 layers of plaster, 1/8" thick. The first layer is white, the second will have color mixed in. We haven't finalized our decisions on the colors, but most likely all walls will be the same unless we leave some white:

Jody was looking at the stairway and saying how he really liked it. I thought we should paint each plane a different color and it would look like an abstract painting:

Getting ready for the lower deck pilings:

Looking up hill on the ocean side of the house.

Looking better and better. I like the idea of different colors for different planes. Can you try it out on sketch-up (is that right) first?

Holy cow! That deck is fantastic. I predict that you will spend a lot of time out there. The living room is looking great! It's amazing how much more light and openness it seems there is from that arched window than if it were square on top. That surprises me. The living room layout is going to totally change the energy of that room, for the better.

Looking SO great.

Love the metal... the angles... the curves... even the mushroom.
