Today I'm pausing to honor Earl who passed away last night. He was a dear person, I'm sure to all who knew him. I wonder if he ever said a harsh word to anyone. He seemed to me to be a genuinely loving & gentle spirit.
Your thoughts are so in tune with what I've been thinking today. Earl was so kind, so earnest. He listened intently, he had a wonderful openness and curiosity. Asked and took so little.
When I think of the generation older than me, I put people into one of 2 categories: those I found "scary" and those I didn't. Most were in the scary category - Earl was one of the few "grownups" I never found scary.
What a handsome guy, I always loved his beautiful eyes!
Good bye, Earl. I miss you. You were a good uncle and a good brother to my dad.
